Giant shield bug

The giant shield bug belongs to the giant stink bugs, some of the biggest shield bugs there are. Its flat body is shaped like a knight's shield. It lives in the warm forests of Southeast Asia.

It lives in many places, including Borneo, Myanmar, India, Java, Sumatra, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Its first scientific name had already been given to a different bug, which caused a big name muddle.
Some books still call it by another name, Pycanum alternatum.
