Amber snail

Succinea putris
Eats: PlantsSnails, slugs and wormsPonds, rivers and shoresNo legsNot an insect, but a bug cousin

The amber snail has a thin, shiny shell the colour of amber, a golden yellow. The shell is small, with a very big opening, so the snail looks almost too big for its house. It loves very wet places near water.

Fun fact: this one is not an insect at all, it has no legs! But kids find it on every bug hunt, so it lives in Bug Wiki too.
