Domino cockroach

Name means: “named after James Petiver, who collected the first ones”

The domino cockroach is a round, shiny black cockroach with white spots, just like a domino tile. It lives on the ground in the bushy forests of southern India. In the hot middle of the day it digs under leaves or loose soil to stay cool.

What does it eat?
It eats bits of dead leaves and other plant stuff on the ground. Tiny helpers living in its tummy help it digest its food, just like in termites.
