Pointed snail

Cochlicella acuta

The pointed snail has a very unusual shell: tall, thin and pointy like a tiny ice cream cone turned upside down. It is usually cream-coloured with brown blotches or bands. It loves sandy places near the sea.

Fun fact: this one is not an insect at all, it has no legs! But kids find it on every bug hunt, so it lives in Bug Wiki too.
