Springwater dancer

The springwater dancer is a slim damselfly. The male is usually bright blue, and some are violet, while the female is pale brown. Both have a black stripe along the side of the chest.

It is a bit bigger than most of the other blue dancers it can be mixed up with.
In 2022 scientists gave it a new scientific name, funebris, which has to do with funerals. Nobody knows why it was chosen.
The black stripe on its side is not forked, which helps you tell it apart from some lookalikes.
