Strawberry root weevil

The strawberry root weevil is a tiny dark brown or black beetle with a long snout. Its wing covers are stuck together, so it cannot fly at all. It got its name because it loves strawberry plants.

No male of this weevil has ever been found. The mothers lay eggs that hatch without any dads.
Its grubs are white, have no legs and curl up into a C shape.
It spends the winter as a grub deep in the soil, or as an adult hiding under stones.
It also eats raspberries, grapes, peppermint and even grass.
