Strawberry snail

The strawberry snail is a small land snail that breathes air. Its round shell can be whitish, yellow-brown or reddish-brown, often with a pale stripe around the edge. When it is young, its shell is a little bit hairy.

A young strawberry snail has scattered hairs on its shell. When it grows up, the hairs are gone.
Before two snails mate, they poke each other with a tiny dart called a love dart.
Its shell has a sharp edge running around the outside, often with a pale band on it.
It lives in Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands and Slovakia.
