Fog-belt bumble bee

The fog-belt bumble bee is a fluffy bumblebee from the west coast of the United States. It looks almost exactly like another bumblebee called the yellow-faced bumblebee. It visits lots of different flowers.

It has been seen on flowers from 19 different plant families.
Its hair is a bit longer than its look-alike's, and it has yellow hairs under its belly.
The queens wake up from their winter sleep in late January, and the first workers come out in early March.
In late October the whole nest ends. Only the new queens live on to start fresh nests next year.
