The red giant is a big snail from the rainforests of India. Its soft body can be red, orange, yellow, cream or even black. Its shell is so thin and small that the snail cannot fit all the way inside it.

Fun fact: this one is not an insect at all, it has no legs! But kids find it on every bug hunt, so it lives in Bug Wiki too.

Its shell is made mostly of a kind of protein and has very little hard chalk in it, so it is very thin.

It is the only kind of snail in its whole group. No other snail is quite like it.

It lives on the forest floor, but sometimes it climbs up into plants too.
