Small fan-footed wave

The small fan-footed wave is a little creamy white moth with thin brown wavy bands. It is so small and pale that it is easy to miss. Each wing has a tiny black dot, like a full stop.

It mostly flies at night and likes to come to lamps, but sometimes it flutters a short way by day.
The caterpillar spends the winter as a caterpillar and only turns into a moth the next year.
In the Alps it lives as high as about 1,700 metres up the mountains.
The caterpillar is long and thin, brownish grey with a white stripe on each side.
