Baronet

The baronet is a butterfly from India and Sri Lanka. On top, its wings are a warm tawny yellow with bold black spots and bands. Underneath they are a deep reddish colour with little pink and white marks.

Its caterpillar is light green with purple spots and has a row of spines covered in fine green hair along each side.
Its pupa is short, green and decorated with golden spots and lines.
In Sri Lanka it lives only in a few grassy savannah areas inside one national park.
The male and female look the same on top, both tawny yellow.
