Quaker

The Quaker is a small butterfly from the blues family. On top it is dark purplish brown, and underneath it is white with fine brown lines and black dots. It changes its look with the seasons.

In the dry season it gets a big snow-white spot on each front wing, but in the wet season it is darker all over.
In very dry places, the markings under its wings can fade away completely.
There are three kinds of Quaker, living in north-east India and Myanmar, in south India and Sri Lanka, and on the Andaman Islands.
