Iberian mantis

The Iberian mantis is a small praying mantis that lives only in Spain and Portugal. It can be brown, grey or green, so it blends in with the plants around it. Its eyes are unusual: they end in sharp points that stick up and out.

How fast is it?
Fun facts

Its babies hide low down in the grass and jump about so quickly that they look like little grasshoppers.
People once worried it might die out, but now there are more of them, and they are moving into new places in Spain and Portugal.
