Nettle ground bug

The nettle ground bug is a small, shiny brown bug that loves stinging nettles. Its legs have stripes of dark and light, and its head is covered in long white hairs. Often you can find a whole crowd of them sitting together on one nettle.

Grown-up bugs spend the winter hiding under tree bark or inside hollow plant stems.
A male and a female can stay joined together for 3 or 4 days when they mate.
The female lays her eggs in the ground near the nettles.
Its front legs each have a little spine on them.
