Kogane spider

The kogane spider is a big striped spider from East Asia. The female's body has yellow and dark brown bands across it. She builds a round web with a white X shape zigzagging through the middle.

The female is about 2 to 3 centimetres long, but the male is only about half a centimetre.
The male is darker than the female and does not have her bright stripes.
It hangs its web between trees and bushes in sunny spots in mountains and grassland.
Its legs are greyish brown with black rings and lots of spines.
