Dingy bushbrown

The dingy bushbrown is a brown butterfly from South and Southeast Asia. On each front wing it has a black eye spot with a white middle and an orange ring. It looks different in the rainy season and in the dry season.

In the rainy season, the underside of its back wing usually has a row of seven eye spots.
In the dry season, the eye spots underneath almost disappear and the wings look like a dry brown leaf.
The female's big eye spot on the front wing is always larger than the male's.
