The orchard spider is one of the prettiest spiders around. It has leaf green legs and sides, a silvery back with dark streaks, and often bright yellow, orange or red spots near its back end. It hangs upside down in the middle of its flat, round web.

Fun fact: spiders are not insects. Insects have six legs, spiders have eight. Everyone calls them bugs anyway!

North and Central America from southern Canada to Colombia, and also South Asia, in orchards, gardens and woods
