The green-striped white is a small white butterfly that flies in warm, dry places. It comes out early, already in late winter. Its caterpillars grow up on wild plants of the mustard family.

You can see it flying from February to June, when many other butterflies are still waiting for summer.
There are at least six slightly different kinds of it, living in different places.
One kind lives only on Fuerteventura, an island in the Canary Islands.
Besides wild scrubland, it also likes old farm terraces and fields.
