The Huron skipper is a small, fast butterfly. The male is tawny orange with wide dark edges on his wings. The female is darker, with two little see-through spots on each front wing.

Every late summer and autumn it goes on a journey north, sometimes almost to Canada.

Scientists only decided in 2022 that it is its own species. Before that it was counted as part of a very similar skipper.
