Cullum's bumble bee is a black bumblebee with a bright red tail. The queens and workers often have some yellow hairs mixed in on their front. It has become very rare.

It used to live in southern England, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

Now in western Europe it is found only in the mountains of central France and the Pyrenees.

The male looks different from the female. He has a yellow face and pale stripes at the front of his back end.

Some bees in Asia might be the same kind. They live high in the mountains, up to 3200 metres.
