The female is about twice as long as the male.
It can live high in the mountains, up to 3600 metres above the sea.
Its web hangs only about half a metre to one and a half metres above the ground.
The female lays her eggs in early autumn, usually on the bark of a tree.
Its scientific name ceropegia is also the name of a group of plants.
